Medieval hammers, powered by the force of the rivers. Inventors, ideas, patents, and companies founded in the pioneering days of European heavy industry. Revolutionary progress, restructuring, new technologies, growth.
We are the heirs to ground-breaking inventions and we recognise the responsibility this brings. BÖHLER companies today are based on sites with a long tradition in steel-working.

The 1870s. Reigning in Europe are Queen Victoria, Czar Alexander II, Emperor William I and his Chancellor Bismarck, and Emperor Franz Joseph in Austria. Vienna, already a city of a million people, is a European economic magnet.
